Eclipse Blessing Card

This Monday, August 21 at there will be a full eclipse of the sun across the US. Here in Portland, we will experience it as a 99.6% eclipse begin at 9:06am, reaching its maximum 99.6 percent totality at 10:19am. While Jewish tradition in the past has had differing feelings about eclipse’s (at one time it was thought to be a sign of brokenness) today we are celebrating this rare natural phenomenon. As such, we are providing blessing cards that you can download or pick up in the building to help express the awe of this event through a Jewish blessing.
