Process Review Committee
June 7, 2010
TO: All Members of Congregation Neveh Shalom
FR: Dan Rubin, Chair, Clergy & Senior Staff Process Review Committee
RE: Final Recommendations
As most of you may know, the Clergy & Senior Staff Process Review Committee was appointed by the President of the Congregation in Summer 2009 to improve the process of evaluation, review and contract renewal of clergy and senior staff.
The committee met frequently between August 2009 and May 2010 to review, research and discuss a myriad of items. Hundreds of combined hours of volunteer time and expertise were invested by the committee on topics including current Neveh Shalom practices, practices of other congregations in the Northwest, Halakhic principles, and materials available from the USCJ and the Rabbinical Assembly. In addition, interviews were conducted with current and former CNS clergy and senior staff members and a Fortune 100 human resources executive. Also, in accordance with the committee's charge, comments were sought from congregants.
On Thursday, May 27, 2010, after 10 diligent months of meetings and work by our committee, the following recommendations were presented to the Board of Directors. Without objection, the recommendations were accepted.
With its work now complete, the committee is discharged. On behalf of the entire congregation, I want to thank the entire group for their dedication and for their determination to seek a better path in the best interests of the congregation.
Committee Members: Steve Blake, Elaine Cogan, Gary Fiske, Lisa Kaner, Dan Schiff, Brian Suher
Ex-officio Members: Doug Lenhoff, Charles Elder
