Worship
Congregation Neveh Shalom and its clergy team offer Conservative Jews in Portland a diverse and engaging worship experience. With the spiritual needs of more than 1,000 families to serve, our approach is to offer a selection of smaller and more intimate worship options along with services in the Main Sanctuary. We have daily Minyan in the Zidell Chapel.
On Friday evenings there is either a main Shabbat service, Chik Chok (Carlebach-style singing service), or Shabbat Rocks the Rose City with the Percy Bernstein Orchestra. On Shabbat morning, one can choose from several simultaneous services – Shabbat in the Main Sanctuary, the congregant-led Downstairs Minyan, or Tot Shabbat and Shabbat Kids for families with young children. To have four parallel services on Saturday morning is common.
For High Holiday worship and other important holiday observances during the year, Congregation Neveh Shalom offers a full range of meaningful prayer services and other worship opportunities to meet the spiritual, social and communal needs of our members.
