DESCRIPTION:Men’s Club Purim 5K to Benefit the CNS Food Pantry\nSunday\, March 15 | 9:00-11:00am | Graham Oaks Nature Park\nRegister Here\n\n$36 per entry | Costumes and groggers encouraged!\nGraham Oaks Nature Park: 11825 SW Wilsonville Rd\, Wilsonville\, OR 97070\n\nWhether you’re a seasoned runner\, a casual walker\, or someone who’d rather cheer from home— you’re invited to join us for the CNS Men’s Club 5K Fundraiser\, supporting our Food Pantry. \nThis is a feel-good event where participation is what matters most. You can run\, walk\, or even go “virtually” (pay the fee\, but walk/run at the time and location of your choosing). However you join\, you’ll be making a meaningful difference — and yes\, everyone who participates gets a medal! \nIf you would prefer to sponsor a participant rather than participate yourself\, you also have the option of making a donation in honor of that individual. This is another way that you can support your local community and the Food Pantry. \nFor our top 3 finishers\, we’ve got special bragging rights in the form of customized pint glasses for a celebratory drink after crossing the finish line. \nLet’s move together — in person or in spirit — for food\, community\, and a bit of fun. \n\nKids in strollers are welcome at no charge.\nAll participants under 18 years of age must be supervised by an adult.\nPets and alcohol are not permitted in the park.\n\nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Talmud Study with Rabbi Emily Kapor-Mater\nSundays\, beginning February 1 | 9:30-10:30am (No Classes Feb 15\, Mar 22\, Mar 29\, and Apr 5)\nRSVP Here\n\n\nThe Talmud stands at the center of Rabbinic Judaism. While often associated with law\, it is also a richly layered work containing narrative\, interpretation\, scientific speculation\, and moments of striking strangeness. Over the course of ten weeks\, this class will engage a curated selection of classic Talmudic passages. We will learn about the history and structure of the Talmud\, explore how Talmudic arguments work\, and meet the rabbis whose voices continue to resonate in Jewish tradition today. All material will be taught in English translation\, with the original Hebrew and Aramaic available for those who wish to engage them. \nRabbi Emily Kapor-Mater is the founding rabbi of the Portland Open Beit Midrash. Her rabbinic work centers on affirming and celebrating the lives and identities of the people who inhabit the margins of the Jewish community\, drawing on innovative yet deeply rooted approaches to Jewish law\, liturgy\, and ritual.
