We regret to inform you of the passing of CNS member and past-president, Arnold Cogan, z”l, this past Friday, July 14, 2023. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Elaine Cogan; children Leonard Cogan, Mark (PJ) Cogan, and Suzanne (Bob) Van Brocklin; sisters Carol Koranda and Judy Ross; grandchildren Elizabeth, Kate, Meg, David, Annabelle, and Rodrigo; and great-grandchildren Jovie and Remy.
Arnold was a president of CNS from 1988-1990, and a long-time supporter of the congregation. He and his dear wife Elaine have chaired at least two long-range plans throughout CNS history.
Following a private (family only) interment, the memorial service will be Monday, July 17, 4:30pm at Congregation Neveh Shalom (2900 SW Peaceful Lane) in the Stampfer Chapel. A light meal of consolation will follow. Click here to join the livestream (we plan to hold the service in the Stampfer Chapel)
The Shiva Minyan will be held, Tuesday, July 18 at 6:00pm at Miramont Pointe (11520 SW Sunnyside Road, Clackamas).
Congregation Neveh Shalom extends our deepest condolences to the Cogan family, along with our prayers that a clear and loving recollection of Arnold will remain with all the members of his family and friends. May those who did not have the privilege of knowing him, come to do so through loved ones sharing their many cherished memories.
May the family be comforted along with all other mourners in Zion…and may the name of Arnold Cogan z”l be for a blessing.
Personal expressions of condolence can be sent directly to the family. Many families have found receiving Neveh Shalom Tribute Cards to be a warmly welcomed gesture as well, at this time. Click here to access the tribute page. Tribute cards are also available by calling the Synagogue office at (503) 246-8831.
Bolded names are those who are CNS members.
