Jewish Overnight Camp and Summer Scholarships

Application deadlines for ALL scholarship opportunities are April 19, 2024.

Camp Solomon Schechter Scholarships:

Neveh Shalom offers need-based scholarships to members who attend Camp Solomon Schechter. All returning and first-time campers are eligible to apply. Kahn scholarship recipients may combine funds with the CNS scholarship. The deadline for applying for assistance from CNS is April 19, 2024. Click here to access the scholarship form.

All first-time campers from Oregon/SW Washington are eligible for a $250 campership from the Judith & Garry Kahn Campership Fund through Camp Solomon Schechter.  This is not need-based. Please contact CSS for more info: https://www.campschechter.org/financial-aid/.

One Happy Camper campership scholarship is available for ANY Jewish overnight camp:

Thanks to the generosity of the Foundation for Jewish Camp and the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, first and second-time campers from the Greater Portland area who are attending ANY Jewish overnight camp are eligible for a One Happy Camper campership of up to $1,000, and there are even some available for Jewish Day School families!  To apply log on at www.jewishcamp.org/one-happy-camper/

Jewish Free Loan of Greater Portland

The Jewish Free Loan of Greater Portland (click on the link to apply) has increased its maximum loan amount from $2000 to $4000 for eligible applicants! This free loan program is available to help with the cost of camp, Israel trips, college, etc.  There are eligibility and guidelines the committee follows similar to a financial aid application.

Teen Israel Trip Scholarships

The Jewish Federation of Greater Portland provides scholarships for teens and college students interested in a trip to Israel. Click here for more information.
