Elul is the month leading up to the High Holy Days. It is customary to spend time learning and reflecting during this period in preparation for the spiritual work of the New Year and Yom Kippur.

Elul begins on the evening of September 3.

The melodies of the High Holy Days are among the most beautiful and powerful in the Jewish tradition. Join Cantor Eyal Bitton as he presents new and traditional High Holy Day melodies. Cantor Bitton invites you to learn and to sing along in this engaging and interactive workshop.

Teshuvah: How We Repair and Repent
With Rabbi Eve Posen

Wednesday, Sept 25, 7pm

Join Rabbi Posen to delve into the steps identified by Maimonides, the medieval rabbi and philosopher, in order to fully engage in repentance. In this 1-hour class, we will break down the text into usable steps. No Hebrew or text experience necessary.

Hear the Shofar During Elul

It’s traditional to attend Morning Minyan in preparation for the High Holy Days and to hear the shofar being blown. For it to be a “kosher” hearing, you’ll need to hear it in person.

Heart & Soul: A Modern Selichot Experience

Join us for an engaging musical evening of pop, rock, and folk music featuring the unique talents of Beth Hamon, Ilene Safyan, and our own Cantor Eyal Bitton as they present songs dealing with the themes of Selichot such as regret, repentance, confession, compassion, introspection, and renewal. Hosted by Rabbi David Kosak.
