Explore the cutting-edge pediatric and rehabilitation work of ALYN Hospital, Jerusalem, the first culturally competent hospital in Israel. It provides “medical and rehabilitation treatment for children and adolescents facing physical challenges, both congenital and acquired, enabling them to function to the best of their ability and integrate into their family life within the framework of a supportive community.” They treat children regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or gender. Their staff are also people of many religions, ethnicities, and genders. ALYN Hospital established an Innovation Space which brings together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, families, and experts with the vision of transforming the ecosystem of children’s assistive devices and promoting inclusive design.
Presenter: Maurits Beeri, MD, is the director general of ALYN Hospital Pediatric Rehabilitation Center in Jerusalem. She is a board-certified pediatrician, having trained at Hebrew University Hadassah Medical Center, and received a MPA from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University as a Wexner Israel Fellow. She serves on the Israeli Ministry of Health National Committee for Pediatrics and Rehabilitation and is a consultant to many organizations. She received an honorary PhD from the Open University of Israel. Dr. Beeri will also spend some time describing her perspective on what is currently occurring in Israel.
